Ghent - Bruges

Reported by Abhinabha Tangerman 40.0 km

Many thanks to De Leeuwenhof hotel in Drongen for hosting one of our runners!

Thanks also to the Ghent River Hotel for hosting two runners.

And our gratitude to the Carlton Hotel in Ghent for hosting two runners.

Our last day in Belgium. We visited an athletics summer camp near the Blaarmeersen lake.

There were 30 children there who spend a week playing all kinds of sports, especially track and field.

Grahak is showing the animal his country is most known for. No, it's not the koala.

Yes, it's the kangaroo.

The kids loved singing the World Harmony Run song with us.

Feeling peace in the heart.

Two sprinters are taling off in slow motion...

Is this peaceful behaviour?

No!

Abhinabha acts getting injured.

Now that's peaceful behaviour!

As the Peace Torch was passed around the children made soulful peace wishes.

At the end of our presentation we all ran a lap around the track for peace.

The Torch was leading the way.

Since the kids were begging for more, we also did a 100 meter sprint together.

They were fast!

Thank you for a wonderful time together!

Annelotte, one of the caretakers, received our certificate of appreciation.

The whole team of adults.

An innovative way to hold the Peace Torch.

We left in high spirits and high fives.

Only three runners were left for our final stretch towards the city of Bruges.

The Peace Run will take a two week break and return in the beginning of September. Our driver and runner Drsalu, who is on the Run the entire seven months, has earned a well deserved break.

Arriving at the Bruges city limits.

This German couple just got married and were thrilled to hold the Torch.

As was this lovely couple from France.

See you in two weeks time!
