Sao Paulo - Santos

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 77.0 km

Welcome to Brasil! Sao Paulo was ready for the Peace Run 2016!

The skyline of the 25-million Metropolis is quite impressive. We started nearby the famous Ibirapuera Park...

...our first meeting brought us to the "Escola Martin Francisco"...

...a brief presentation and a short run...

Thank you "Escola Martin Francisco" for the warm welcome!

...it was already time to say good bye to Sao Paulo and we moved on to our "official" starting point for the Brasilian Peace Run 2016:

Santos! The city at the Atlantic Ocean, which marks the "harbor" of Sao Paulo. From here the major immigration of Brasil's South took its way...

Santos is the home of Brasil's football legend Pelé. We paid a visit to the stadium of the Santos Football Club...

...we met young male and female players...

...a new team, ready for the championship...

...walking on "holy ground"...

...and a lap for peace!

...the marketing manager of the Santos Football Club received the torch. Thank you for the nice meeting!

...just nearby we visited the school "Escola E. Azevedo Júnior"...

...a quick presentation...

Thank you "Escola E. Azevedo Júnior" for the fun!

...a "favela" in Santos - looks actually quite nice!

...and once more school-time in Santos! The "Escola Municipal Professor Mário de Almeida Alcântara" was next...

...the kids lined up as a welcome committee - all the way to the gym hall...

...a nice presentation...

...friends...

....Peace can be felt in the heart...

...big smiles as we passed the torch...

...also the teachers had fun...

...and we got nice refreshments...

Thank you "Mário de Almeida Alcântara" for the enthusiastic meeting!
