A beautiful morning in Padova! Our first appointment brought us to the Botanical Garden. It is the oldest garden owned by Universities, as it serves as a supply for medical herbs for studies.

Mrs. Barbara Baldan, the director of the Botanical Garden, received the peace torch.

Many students visit the garden. One class joined the presentation.

...we renewed the plague for a Peace Tree that was dedicated in 2012...

...a really nice tree! Planted in 1680!

...after the meeting at the secondary schools all the kids joined us for carrying the torch to the "Reggia dei Carraresi Primary School". It was a very joyful walk-run through the historic city!

...we started our running-day through the "Veneto", one of Italy's many beautiful regions...

...as we reached San Donà di Piave, athletes from the local running clubs awaited us...

...runners from "Ass. Atletica San Donà" and from "Ass. Atletica Mirafiori" carried the torch into the city...

...Mr. Luigi Trevisiol, the deputy mayor of San Donà di Piave, invited our runners and all the participants into the city hall...

The Restaurant "al Belvedere" invited us for an excellent dinner. Thank you for the hospitality!

...the next morning we visited the local primary school in San Donà di Piave: "Silvio Trentin"...

...it was time to say good bye to our Italian friends and to run a long stretch to the Slovenian border.
