Fălesti - Sculeni

Reported by Uhaina Maya 69.0 km

Thank you Fălesti for such a grand and warm welcome!

...and for the delicious bread that made the whole team happy including our Capitan!!

What do we want?... PEACE!

When do we want it?... NOW!

Who needs words when you have smiles as sincere as this ones?

The kids wished us luck for our journey. Thank you!

You know a meeting is awesome when the photographer has to climb to the second floor to be able to capture all the smiling faces who support the dream of peace.

Thank you for the smiling faces, we always feel recharged after meeting happy runners.

To be a peace runner you need a torch, working legs, actually any pair of legs will do, and a unstopable spirit. On the road again...

Welcome to Busila where the first group of runners awaited us with style.

...almost there, guys...

A nice meeting in the shade, the runners for sure appreciated that...

Peace starts when you give it a chance...

...and so does happiness...

...the eyes of a kid never lie...

...nor do the smiles...

This kids were so cute I wanted to put some in my bag and take them back to Mexico...

Farwell Peace Run...

The community official showed soo much egearness to get a hold of the torch, and to share his wishes for Peace.

Viva Moldova!!

Sumahat leading the kids on the right way, easy peasy...

Yashodevi, our strong Ukranian runner, running her last kilometers for this years Run: we already miss her!

The school principal in Pârlița gave a kind speech for Peace and he encouraged us to continue our very long journey.

The torch working its magic...

The principal was so nice: he allowed us to visit some classes in session to pass the torch from hand to hand to the kids.

and of course the kids where so happy...

...they got a nice break from their lesson that day...

Also the older kids got a change to hold the torch during physics class. They will soon be learning the physics behind the flaming torch.

Not only was this guy wearing a very fitting shirt for the occation, he also shared a very touching message of peace and fared us good luck in our journey, all in English.

Thank you again Pârlița for such a warm and joyful welcome, we sure enjoyed going from class to class passing the tourch. You gave us a chance to remember our old school day.

Girl power running on the streets of Moldova!

The locals took some time from their daily lifes to observe the runner pass by. The outcome: smiling faces.

Welcome to Ungheni. Their shirts read: Olimpic day. Quite fitting for a run with the flaming Peace torch.

Paparazzi everywhere, we felt so special...

More delicious bread... As a mexican runner this ceremony is my favorite. The idea of welcoming others with bread and salt is exciting and filling.

Sincere Peace can be felt by young...

...and older alike...

After running the running kids love to pose for pictures, specially when they are sweaty.

Presenting the mayor with Sri Chinmoy's painting of World Harmony. Our very own way off offering our gratitude. We hope it will find a beautiful place in your his office.

Olivia, our mexican runner is trying to blend in, let's just say it wasn't working so well.

Of course the mayor of Ungheni joined us for some running. Again we thank you for your kindness.

This smile is due to the fact that the van was near...

Ready, set...... GO!!!!

Goga, our Croatian runner was taking some Moldivian dance classes from a very handsome local...

Look everybody... I am a smiling dog!!

Welcome to sunny Sculeni where the kids were so fast...

That some runners opted for an easier way of covering the kilometers for the day...

Yet some were committed to finish in the traditional way...

Look at this cute little girl with shinning eyes and a bright flower...

The traditional clothing of Moldova was forever present in every meeting we went.

When the kids where asked where they felt love and harmony they all touched their hearts...

Believe it or not, adults can also feel this love and harmony...

Hold on... I think i feel something...

May Peace prevail!

The school principal spoke nice words to encourage peace in the community.

Offering a Peace wish to the torch...

Everyone got a chance to hold the torch...

If you look closely you will notice that this are real girls, even though they look like little dolls.

When in Moldova do as the Moldovans...

...and that means everyone joins in for a dance!!!

Right, left, right again.... it seems not everyone knew which way to move, myself included...

Thank you Sculeni for your sweetness and the dance lesson.

A special gift for a very special school.

This kids were tireless, they ran to school and yet wanted to join us for more running.

Getting ready to say good bye. We thank you once more for the friendship.

On our way to the border of Moldova and Romania we meet a small group of kids ready to run. This group kept increasing in number.

Our last group picture in Moldova. We really enjoyed your country, your people and you culture. Thank you for your outstanding hospitality!
