We had great accommodations at the Best Western Plus in Madison, Wisconsin last night, donated so kindly by the Administration there.

Our first stop after a long drive on our day off of running was Victory's Banner Restaurant in Roscoe Village, Chicago.

Pradhan, the owner of Victory's Banner (left) was working hard on a busy Sunday when he so kindly and generously welcomed us to a feast of delicious food.

Our women's team happily enjoys a delicious lunch with Sukantika and Mayankinee, two of the local coordinators for the Peace Run here in Chicago.

Our men's team also enjoyed very nutritious and delicious food.

A very clean and efficient kitchen and system makes this restaurant a very popular dining establishment in Chicago.

Papahinam, one of the great chefs, works hard at trying to fill all the orders once our hungry team came into town.

Waitresses scrambled to keep up to our appetites.

Mahiruha, dishwasher extraordinaire, kept us amused and smiling with his wit and humor.

Pradhan built this restaurant in 1999 and still manages to keep the standard high and the food delicious after 15 years of service to the community.

Directly across the street is a beautiful florist shop called 'Gratitude-Heart-Garden'.

Incredibly beautiful flowers and arrangements are offered here.

It truly is a beautiful garden of amazing plants and flowers.

Everything is tasteful, colorful and well organized.

Sidhantha, second from left, is the proud owner of this incredible flower shop.He tells us some wonderful stories about his fragrant and colorful business.

He kindly offers us some of his custom-made T shirts as he tells us some of the history of this beautiful place.

Afterwards we made our way to Chinatown.

Amidst some of the attractive Asian architecture there was a colorful Chinatown Festival for many city blocks today.

Entertainment and lots of food was provided.

We took the stage at some point to introduce ourselves

There was a big crowd wandering around the multi-block festival.

After our introductions Salil welcomes Gene Lee and offers him our Torch-Bearer Award.

Gene is a veteran of over 30 years of public service. He has won numerous awards for his service to the community including the Asian-American Coalition Outstanding Community Service Award.

We were honored and grateful to offer Gene this well-deserved award from the Peace Run.

Two wonderful friends who organized our participation in this event.

Some of the audience expressed some interest in holding the torch and offeriing

Back to Victory's Banner Restaurant for another fine meal and a pre-birthday party for Arpan. We may gain a few pounds if we keep having birthday celebrations before our actual birthdays. We are very grateful to Pradhan, Sukantika, Mayankinee, Mudavati and others for such a warm welcome to Chicago today.

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.

See who is sending us messages.
