April 22, 2016 Live from the road

Washington DC - Ashland VA

Reported by Salil Wilson

We were delighted to be able to visit with the teachers and students from the Montessori School of Northern Virginia.

Head teacher Ms. Betsy Mitchell, made us all feel very welcome.

The students watched our video and we introduced ourselves and spoke a little about the vision of the Peace Run. Some of the students very kindly presented the team with a beautiful arrangement of azaleas which are now travelling with us in our RV.

After the presentation we headed outside to pass the torch.

While we were passing the torch the students spontaneously started singing the most soulful songs.

Everyone held the torch and made a wish for peace.

Special thanks to Betsy for a wonderful visit.

Luana got our womens' team off to a flying start.

Meanwhile the majority of our mens team headed to the Dr. Louis Massad Family YMCA just nead Fredricksburg.

This was a preschool gathering with 4 years olds that were adorable.

Some of the artwork we picked up at the YMCA.

All aboard the peace train.

Sarankhuu from Mongolia ran a lot today.

Celebrating his last miles.

Salil completes his first miles of the North American Peace Run for 2016.

Spring in Virginia. Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.
