Connecticut - New York

We started our final day saying a big thank you and fond farewell to our dear friends, Nripal and Nidrahara(who was sadly not present for our visit).

We gave them some gifts in return for the generous hospitality, support and friendship they have offered The Peace Run for many years. Nripal also read some inspiring words from Thomas Jefferson on peace from a selection of Jefferson's writings he compiled entitled "Light and Liberty".

Nripal and the team!

We finally reached the New York State Border!

Mens team...

Womens team...we were thrilled to be joined by Akbota and Zuzka for the final day, both of them were such great team members earlier on the run ;)

It was a super hot day for running!!

You had to be brave to run today, thank you to this man for joining us!

When we reached 164th St we ran past Manifestation Glow Printing, and our good friends and supporters from there including Abakash came out to greet us!

A rare shot of our great Ukranian/Canadian team member, coordinator, and photographer, Yatkara!

We also passed by Shaheen, and Indian Restaurant owned by our good friend, and dear friend of Sri Chinmoy, Aurobinda. He is always incredibly generous and welcoming, and he gave us a bag of kulfi, Indian ice cream, for all the runners. Thank you, Aurobinda!!

Crossing the road to our final destination where we began 4 months ago in Jamaica, Queens.
Pictured at the front are Puroga, Tavishi(holding the torch), and Pierre, who all ran the entire journey. We are all so grateful to them for their deeply heart-felt, cheerful and dedicated presence on our team.

Pierre and Puroga had a beginning shot, and here is the finishing shot, still smiling after 4 months on the road!

A final team shot with the RV, our wonderful storage facility, kitchen and home for the last 4 months!
We are so grateful for having the best team ever from so many countries; to all those who supported us in so many ways; to all the thousands of people we met along the way who inspired and encouraged us so deeply; and most of all to our greatest inspiration, Peace Run Founder, Sri Chinmoy, for having this unprecedented Vision for discovering and sharing Peace on Earth.

To finish, here is an excerpt from a talk by Sri Chinmoy in April, 1998...

"It is my wish that, from now on, this burning peace flame will be alive all the time in each country and in each heart. We will always have our biennial Peace Run in a very soulful, significant, prayerful and magnificent way. But on a day-to-day basis I would like each of you to feel the very presence of peace inside the depths of your heart. Each and every country must feel the supreme necessity of peace, and this peace-injection you have to give."
