May 17, 2018 Live from the road

Durango, CO - Bluff, UT

Reported by Grahak Cunningham 85.0 mi

The boys one team got in their miles early after a stay at Best Western Darango. The car was booked in to have its brakes fixed in Cortes at 11 so we had to be there!

The scenery was stunning on the busy road. The huge rock edifices leaving the sometimes green, sometimes desert like landscape.

The ceremony at Montezuma Creek Elementary is on a Navajo Reservation. Running comes naturally to the Navajo. When asked who loves the sport the team got their most unmainous response yet. The kids watched the video.

Skits followed with casting from the children.

The Boys team swapped our repaired van for the RV and left for Kemper Elementary School where the students gathered outside under the cloudless sky.

All 300+ held the torch.
