Denpasar

Reported by Harita Davies

Today the Peace Run was welcomed by the Vice Governor of Bali and 300 school children from ten different schools around Denpasar. The venue was the beautiful Lapangan Timur Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat Bali, Renon.

We had an International Team with runners from about 30 different countries.

The Vice Governor, Ketut Sudikerta, carried the torch in to begin the Ceremony.

We began with the Indonesian National Anthem.

Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run Executive Director, Salil Wilson, spoke about the Peace Run and Sri Chinmoy's great love for Bali before handing the torch to the Vice Governor.

Vice Governor Ketut Sudikerta welcomed the Peace Run on behalf of the Governor, who at the last minute unfortunately was unable to attend.

We were thrilled to be joined by dear friends of Peace Run founder, Sri Chinmoy, and all of us, Prince Dipo and Princess Fabri, (far right), along with members of the Rotary Club of Indonesia.

On behalf of the Governor, Ketut Sudikerta received an artwork by Peace Run founder, Sri Chinmoy, entitled "World Harmony"

Our International Choir sang the Peace Run song, and also a song Sri Chinmoy composed in honor of the beautiful Island of Bali.

We enacted a couple of skits demonstrating what is and is not harmony for the kids.

Raise your right hand...

and put it on your heart...this is where individual and collective peace begins.

Finally it was time to pass the torch to everyone!

We ran a lap of the field with all the kids, they were so enthusiastic!

Kanyaka from Bali led the way. She was thrilled that some students from her school attended!
Ten schools sent thirty representatives each. A list of the school who sent representatives follows:
SMAN 1 DENPASAR
SMAN 2 DENPASAR
SMAN 6 DENPASAR
SMAN 7 DENPASAR

SMKN 1 DENPASAR

New friends!

The Lapangan Timur Monument Perjuangan Rakyat Bali made for a stunning photo backdrop! And we made the most of the opportunity...

All our gratitude to all of the adults, officials and children who so enthusiastically welcomed us, embraced and embodied the oneness-family message of The Peace Run!

A oneness-family
Is the world’s
Mightiest family.
