Italy 15 November: Palermo

The Peace Week Continues

The sun rises in Sicily.

From 1991 to 2007, Sri Chinmoy drew millions of birds which he referred to as Dream-Freedom-Peace-Birds or Soul-Birds.

“For me, birds have a very special significance; they embody freedom…I feel that inside each of us there is an inner existence that we call the soul. The soul, like a bird, flies in the sky of God’s Infinity. When we think of birds flying in the sky, we are reminded of our own soul-bird flying in the sky of Infinity.”

– Sri Chinmoy

O seeker-artist,
How do you get ideas
For your paintings?
“I do not get any ideas
For my paintings.
I just get an inspiration-message
From within,
And then I begin to paint.”

– Sri Chinmoy

Students from a language school gather in Sant'Elia Museum to hear about the Peace Run and Sri Chinmoy's Jharna Kala Art.

The School Director offers his own very inspiring words on the subject of Peace.

This plaque in the heart of Palermo reminds us that the city is a Sri Chinmoy Peace City.

In the evening we are invited by Rosa Vitale (right) to join the Director of The Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo on her TV show to discuss the Peace Run and Sri Chinmoy's Art and his Philosophy on Peace.
