Today we launched our US Peace Run, a journey of 10,000 miles which will take place over the next 4-months.

We began with a moment of silence followed by Sri Chinmoy's song, A New World of Peace.

Here is the route of this year's relay.

Salil Wilson, Executive Director, briefly explained how the Peace Run endeavors to give an opportunity for each person to express their hopes and dreams for inner peace.

Ms. Ranjana Ghose, President of the Sri Chinmoy Centre welcomed everyone to Aspiration-Ground, a place where Sri Chinmoy spent time almost everyday when he was in New York.

Harita Davies, Co-Director of the US Peace Run, invited our visiting runners in a parade of nations.

We had runners from over 35 countries!

Article 1 "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood."

Article 2, "Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, poli- tical or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty."
