Pokhara

Reported by Sweta Pradhan 1.0 km

This morning we visited a wonderful community gathering in Pokhara. It is a pilot initiative of our dear friend Tej Sir gathering citizens of the local community to come together on a Saturday morning and participate in exercise and fellowship. The program is conducted at Rasriya Ma Vi school premise. Mr. Iswori Prasad, Head Teacher welcomed our team and held the Peace Run Torch at the start.

The ages of participants range from 7 to 70 plus.

Tej sir hopes this type of program can be replicated throughout the city of Pokhara. The theme of this program is Come! Play! Be Healthy!

This enthusiastic lady led a rather strenuous aerobic program. The exercise was combined with Pranayama and laughter yoga which all the participants seem to enjoy equally.

Tej sir very kindly introduced the Peace Run and our founder Sri Chinmoy.

Sweta then spoke about our team.

Shyamala from Scotland.

Harashita from Japan teaching the actions to our song.

Off we go for a lap around the school yard. The short Run was led by Mr. Sahara Pradhan, Chair Person of Ward 1 in Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Harashita presented Peace Run T-shirts to the instructors, ward chairperson and ward 1 chairman of Sports Development Committee. Salil thanked everyone for allowing us to share the torch with them and for being so kind and enthusiastic participants. He finished by saying we hope to return very very soon.
