Galien, Michigan - Angola, Indiana

Reported by Brahmata Michael 90.0 mi

It was a hot and sunny Sunday morning, running from Michigan into Indiana.

The team received a warm and lively welcome from the True Vine Tabernacle Church in Elkhart, Indiana.

Members of the congregation held the Peace Torch and offered their heartfelt prayers and dreams for peace.

The church and it's members radiated kindness and inclusivity.

Eleven different nationalities are represented at their church, they are hosting a "Diversity Day" in August.

We attended their service and were moved by the spirited music and singing!

The team was invited to come up and introduce ourselves, Banshidhar spoke about the importance that places of worship have in their communities.

We sang them our Peace Run song, which did not even come close to the volume and energy of their earlier singing! But they were kind and attentive listeners regardless.

Minister Nancy Rodriguez-Lora and her husband, Carlos Lora received a painting by Sri Chinmoy entitled "Unity", which perfectly sums up the experience we had at their church.

The congregation prayed for the team and for the message of the Peace Run to spread.

The Minister shook the hand of each team member, we thank them for the warmhearted send-off.

Our new team member Saranyu from Australia got some miles in with her fresh legs.

We found a Statue of Liberty, right here in the Midwest.
