Levin - Kapiti

Reported by Daniel Rubin 38.0 km

Don and Caslav run he first 6km from Top 10 Levin towards the first school, Manakau School. They loved the the toots and waves from the parents and children driving to school.

Preetidutta and Yoko carry the torch from to Manakau school.

We learnt the actions to the World Harmony Run song.

Beautiful artwork from the  students centred on the theme of a dove of peace.

Roxana Magdici from Italy gives a high five. The children love guessing where she's from!

Passing the torch from hand to hand, heart to heart.

Students delight us with art designed on the peace dove image.

Here's our hero, Rebecca Rolls, who organises events for 6000 children in the Kapiti District. She beautifully organised our schools, accomodation and generally made the day a spectacular success.

Running with the colourful houses. This school is nestled behind mountains - a wonderful school to visit.

Running on the stunning cycle track to Paraparaumu Beach School.

Gail and her dog Mollie stop to hear about the event.

We stopped for just a brief moment to admire the view.

We were led into an excited Paraparaumu Beach School by a student representative.

a quiet moment...

Here from left to tight are Bruce, Michelle and Troy our delightful hosts from El Rancho - a 60 acre paradise that caters for groups including many schools to connect with the outdoors. Thank-you for your loving support and making us feel comfortable in private chalets as well as a sumptious dinner to keep us fueled for the next day's running!
