Korrik 13, 2025 Live from the road

Camooweal, Qld - Mount Isa City, Qld

Reported by Edgars Ancans, Gianluca Marangon 183.0 km

In Camooweal we spent the night in The Drovers Camp, where Wayne and Kim took care of us. Thanks to them, we were able to feel the spirit and energy of Australia. Runners feel much more connected to the country after Wayne's and Kim's stories about the daily life of drovers

Kim's interesting and exciting tour of The Drovers Camp Museum. We feel a deep respect for the drovers' hard work they did in the outback of Australia

Farewell picture at dawn

We are grateful to meet such warm-hearted people along the way

First torch handover for today's relay. Kim passes the torch to Misha

Another beautiful day in the wastelands of Australia. The wind was kinder to us today. Still a headwind, but not nearly as fierce. Making our way deeper into Queensland was easier and a little more inviting

The landscape offered a pretty wide variation from morning to afternoon

We began in vast fields of grass

Progressed to smaller bushes

And the return of termites, at least their mounds, anyway

And finished with the desert forest

Lecture number 1. Misha is sharing some valuable Peace Run tips with Gianluca

All around Australia. I am running, but you are driving. See you at the next campground

See you in a few km

From Camooweal, we run towards today's goal, Mount Isa

A passenger from Australia has settled on Gianluca's back

Guys, listen to the experienced Atulya, and everything will be fine

Please give these guys a few more kilometres. No signs of fatigue.

Two suns in the sunset

After setting up our tents and taking care of so much-needed laundry, several teammates made their way to Moondara Lake. It was lovely and extremely peaceful.

We were lucky enough to stay for the sunset before making our way back for dinner
