The women's Peace Run team is extremely grateful to its Seattle hosts who generously organized accommodation for the whole team during its Seattle stopover. Heading eastward now!
Running through the spectacular Cascade Mountains, the team was impressed by the landscape, fast flowing rivers and constant encouragement from passers-by.
The women's team enjoyed chatting with Wayne Hart, a local forest service employee. Wayne held our Peace torch and wished the Peace Run all the best.
Beautiful butterflies were attracted to these delighfully fragrant flowers that were growing by the side of the road.
In the afternoon, the running team reached Leavenworth, a uniquely beautiful and charming Bavarian-themed town, replete with German souvenirs, signage, cuisine and architecture.
Daulot introduces the Peace Run to those attending the Leavenworth Accordion Festival. The festival is a 40 year traditional gathering of those who love the accordion and honor its heritage.
Daulot, our coordinator for the day, was invited to try an alphorn. He did us proud and was complimented on his excellent first attempt at the instrument.
