Richmond View School meet the team on a typically sunny Blenheim day. Their welcome is heartfelt, warm and welcoming.
Daniel here introducing team members from various continents, Africa, Oceania and Europe - to illustrate the diversity of cultures that come together to participate in the global "Oneness-Home Peace Run".
A contingent of students from Blenheim School enthusiastically meet the team at Seymour Square, near the centre of town.
They lead us on a scenic run following park paths and around Seymour Square's water feature, carrying the torch relay-style to their school.
Children from Blenheim School take delight in passing the torch around and making a wish for peace in their hearts.
Sports representatives of Bohally Intermediate meet Nadine Taylor, Mayor of Marborough in the Malborough District Council chambers.
Mayor Nadine Taylor, reflects on the occasion:
"Thank-you for keeping the thread of it alive for Aotearoa New Zealand, for bringing it through Marlborough so we can be part of the thread of the journey of the Peace Run and from that oneness of home that you are messaging through your run. We are so proud of you and so proud to be a part of it. Kia ora (Maōri), thank-you."
These students have run several kilometres from the Mayor's office to bring the torch to Bohally Intermediate School.
Students at Bohally spontaneously start running with the traveling banner in perfect syncronicity. The author of this post has never seen this level of skill on a school visit before!
