Coulee City, WA - Spokane, WA

Reported by Santiva Morrison 115.0 mi

We woke up to a beautiful morning ready to start our run.

We would like to thank the Coulee Lodge Resort for their complementary camping. We appreciate their kindness.

Time to start running. Here is Saudamini so enthusiastically running her miles.

We ran through beautiful farms of canola flowers.

Our first ceremony of the day was at Wilbur City Park where we met Erik. He is the town foreman.

Courtney, the town clerk, and her son Grayson were also present during the ceremony.

Here is Marina running through the city of Spokane.

During her run, she shared the peace torch with a few new friends.

Team stopped at the Spokane Hoopfest, which is the largest 3on3 outdoor basketball tournament in the world to share the peace torch.

Chintamani's smile is contagious!

Our last ceremony of the day was at Veradale United Church of Christ.

Reverend Gen Heywood, her congregation, members of the community and the Interfaith group received us enthusiastically.

Rev. Heywood reading the messages from the congregation to the peace runners with well wishes and best of luck with our future endeavors during our journey. It was very inspiring to us. Thank you very much. We will carry your light in those messages to the rest of the USA.

Salil receiving the Love Messages.

Everyone received a candle and shared with us their hopes, dreams and pledges for peace.

We offered a certificate of appreciation to the Veradale United Church for their enthusiastic participation.

Also receiving a certificate, Petra Hoy, who started the group called "Be the Change 509: East Side Gladiators" to honor the people who are active and inspiring the communities. Thank you for supporting the Peace Run and thanks to the Gladiators, the women's team had a place to spend the night.

Thank you everyone! We were most inspired to have met you. You will always remain in our hearts.

We thank Shari and J Adams for giving us accommodations at their home for the night. Here is a family in Shari's neighborhood so eagerly to hold and run with the peace torch.

We offer our outmost gratitude to Shari because of her meeting Salil, our executive director, during his cross country Peace Ride, she was excited to know about the Peace Run and contacted members of the community to make this evenings meeting happen.
