All gratitude to the San Franscisco long time Peace Run support team!

Women runners enjoyed generous accommodations at the "Palace". Our excellent hosts provided giant sized lunch bags, which lasted more than two days! Yum!

The day begins at the Golden Gate Bridge Visitors Center, a Peace Run Torch Bearer steps forward to be recognized.

Our friends from San Diego joined us as well.

The recipient: Norbu Tenzing, son of Tenzing Norgay. Tenzing Norgay was one of a two man team who were the first to summit Mount Everest, together with Sir Edmund Hillary. Norbu also founded the American Himalayan Foundation.

Gill and Sarah from the AHF are also present.

The AHF brings safety, shelter, education, healthcare and opportunity across the Himalayas and have improved countless lives. Peace Runner Sweta Pradhan from Nepal speaks of the appreciation, respect and gratitude the Nepali people have for Norbu and the AHF.

Thank you Norbu for all you do. The world is improved by your selfless, sincere and warm stewardship of peace :)

AHF leads us, off and running into the mist of the unknown, trusting the torch to lead us across the iconic bridge.

The fog is a natural phenomenon resulting from the Golden Gate being the only passage around between warm hills and cool sea.

But lo and behold, the fog is clearing, the morning sun reveals the beautiful bay!

It was wonderful crossing the Golden Gate Bridge with you Stacey, Gill and Sarah! :)

Proud and happy Peace Runners

Leaving Golden Gate behind to head into the hills.

Our dear friend Kinkani coordinated all the meetings in the San Francisco area and together with Dean more than deserves our Certificate of Appreciation! Thank you both! The team is extremely grateful for your selfless efforts. Until we meet again!

We are enthusiastically received by Anne Sands of the Rotary Club of West Marin.

Anne identified a member of the community who stands out as a Torch Bearer. His selfless contributions to improving the lives of others must clearly be recognized: Christian Giacomini.

Christian is a dedicated community leader who supplies everyone with goodwill, cheer and generosity of spirit.

That's not all Christian supplies!

We enjoyed our time with our new friends at the Point Reyes Peace Garden!

The team was delighted to hook up with Dale, brother of long time Peace Run teammate Nayak Polissar from Seattle.

Anne is leading the way past comfy coffee chairs ...

... back out on the road: Highway #1!

Endless energy!!

This way to a scenic run through a landscape on the edge of the shining sea!

A burn ban in California means no open flames however a flaming flower works just as well.

California's flora is fiery enough!

And keeps California safe and thriving! ;)

The team stopped for lunch in Marshall and met Michael Strauss at his ranch. It turns out he is a good friend of Indonesian Peace Run teammates Omunity, Zan Zan, and Putu of Sudaji. Balinese teammate Suhasini was delighted. Michael kindly took us for a little tour around his farm.

A gift to take with us from Strauss farm :)

Cows also sang us to sleep at our campground out in the meadows. Moooo!
