Reported by Sadanand Magee 65.0 km

Today our team started early, because we had to visit 5 schools. The first Team enjoyd the meeting at the Volksschule Greifenburg.

Heute mussten wir unser großes Peace Run team teilen. Das erste Team besuchte die Volksschule in Greifenburg, und wurde dort enthusiastisch empfangen.

The students at this school had prepared something special. They had created a set of Peace Cards, each card featuring a letter of the word "Frieden" (peace) on one side and its meaning on the other, such as “fair sein” (being fair) or “Einanderhelfen” (to help each other).

It was a creative and engaging way for the kids to express their understanding of peace.

Time to pass the torch.

The mayor also held the torch.

All the children wanted to hold the torch - an powerful gesture expressing their deep wish for peace.

The Peace Run team gave the school a special gift called 'World Harmony' (Jahrna Kala) and a certificate to thank the school for supporting peace.

Than you Greifenburg for the heartwaming reception!

Our second team visited the primary school of Berg im Drautal, where they shere enthusiastically reveived by the children.

Thank you Berg im Drautal!

After Berg im Drautal the second team visited the primary school in Oberdrauburg, where we had a heartwarming welcome. The school also received a drawing "plant a tree for world harmony".

Thank you Volksschule Oberdrauburg for the heartwarming reception!

Meanwhile the second team headed for Matrei, where they where received from kids of the primary and middle school, over 400 pupils altogether.

running with kids into the Tauerncenter, where the meeting took place.

As a welcome we where presented wtth a powerful performance of the song "99 Luftballons", presented by the pupils of the music middle school Matrei.

At this school, the students presented some beautiful drawings that symbolized peace, such as doves and other peaceful imagery. They also created small flags with messages of peace.

This was a bigger school, but still everyone had a chance to hold the torch.

At our last meeting in the Volksschule Kals am Großglockner both of our teams came together. We where received very warmharted and the maor of Kals joined us and held the peace torch.

We where receivedfrom some of the childrem in front of the school.

They were also very engaged and prepared a song for us, along with some peace-themed drawings made by the children themselves.

Thank you Volksschule Kals for the great reception!

After all presentations a part of the team started to run towards Lucknerhaus- alpine hut - Gateway into the Ködnitztal valley

Very happy runners!

When all team members arrived at the Lucknerhaus, we had there a lunch

The whole team had the opportunity to try a traditional Austrian dish – Knödel with cheese, and also with spinach.

After lunch, the team had the opportunity to go for a scenic hike to the Lucknerhütte.

To our delight, we even discovered a swing (Schaukel) at high altitude — a fun and unexpected highlight of the hike!

Along the way, we enjoyed breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

Excited by the fresh mountain air and stunning views, we even did a bit of running toward the hut!
