Our day began quite early as we had just changed time zones. So even though it was only 7.00 am it felt like 6.00 am.

We were happy to get on the road early as it was going to be another hot one.

The temperature was forecast to reach 94 F (35 C).

Our first meeting was with the lovely town folk of Gregory, SD. Director of Library Tara Engel, Jaime Braun, Gregory Dallas Chamber Director and Trudy Waterman, City Finance Director were among those who met us.

We met in Buche's Supermarket parking lot which was very central.

This local resident very kindly presented us with seven beautiful peacock feathers.

We were all delighted with our beautiful feathers.

Here is one of the donor birds that is quite happy to ride along in the car.

Soon we were back on the road with the temperature climbing.

Teekhnata ran across the Fort RandalI Dam which is on the mighty Missouri River. The dam was named after the historic Old Fort Randall, a prominent 19th-century military outpost located just downriver. The Army Corps of Engineers built the dam between 1943 and 1956. It was the largest construction project ever undertaken in South Dakota at the time.

We were delighted to meet with Ray King who very kindly shared with us lot's of local knowledge.

Gatisheela puts a pin in the visitor map showing she was born in Vietnam.

Some children on a family road trip from Colorado were interested in what was going on.

Ray farewelled Dhavala underneath the Army Corps of Engineers flag.

Back on the road.

Becky Tycz of the Tyndall Tribune & Register came out to take photos of the women's team.

At one of our last stops in South Dakota we were very grateful to meet a wonderful representation of Yankton Citizens.

Chelaine Knudsen, Chairwoman of the Yankton Sioux Tribe, led us out followed by Randy Rysavy, President of the Wagner Chamber of Commerce as well as some other citizens.

At the end of the day we were grateful to take some respite from the heat courtesy of some beautiful rooms at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Yankton.
