During the morning run we met many kind people from all fields of life who were very willing to hold the torch and make a wish for Peace.
The team continues the journey. The flowers that we see along the road remind that we all are like flowers in a garden - so different and each one with its own unique beauty.
We run with the hope of adding a bit of color to the day of people we meet along the way.

Running into the smallest State in the Union, Rhode Island!
The Mayor of Cumberland, Jeffrey Mutter, and Zulika Santana, representing Mayor Rivera of Central Falls, at the Sri Chinmoy Peace Bridge which connects the cities of Central Falls and Cumberland.
The World's First Sri Chinmoy Peace Bridge connects Cumberland and Central Falls. Both were proclaimed as Sri Chinmoy Peace Towns and Peace Cities respectively. Many landmarks around the World have been dedicated as Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossoms, serving as a reminder for people to take a moment to reflect and meditate on Peace.
Heading to our second meeting of the day at Jenks Park.
Here we met many parents and kids during their lunch pick-up at the Jenks Park Residence. Everyone was very enthusiastic to play games and sing songs with us.
Local coordinators joined the Team. On the round banner we can show our 2024 route travelled by the team - almost ten thousand miles are behind us. Could any of us do it by ourselves? No, we can do it only as a TEAM!

Rhode Island Police accompanied us all day long escorting our team, running along with us, joining us for songs and sharing smiles. These officers were from Central Falls. Thank you! Your participation is much appreciated!
Peace and harmony in a family and within our hearts is the only way the entire word can become a peaceful place to live.
Brian,(pictured holding the torch), and Dee,(just ahead on the bike), joined the team for many miles. They have joined us many times, in fact whenever the Peace Run passes through Rhode Island we can be sure they are there .

Our third ceremony took place at another Sri Chinmoy Peace Bridge - this time in the Peace City of Pawtucket. A bridge is a symbol of unity and oneness, it connects two pieces of land and helps people to be united.
The waterfall in the city is famous for its hydropower which supplied numerous Lowell's textile factories. Pawtucket is the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution.
Pawtucket Chief Equity Officer, Chachi Carvalho, representing Mayor Donald Grebient, came to show his support for the Peace Run and share the initiatives done by the city in the field of equity. Thank you for the wonderful time shared with our team, and for coming despite the afternoon heat.

The last meeting of the day was at one of the biggest State Houses in America - the smallest and the proudest State - Rhode Island!

Unfortunately Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island Sabina Matos was not able to meet us as planned, but we still received an honorable and whole-hearted welcome! James Diossa and Rosa de Castillo have both been supporters of the Peace Run Run for many years. We first met James Diossa when he came out to show his support for the Peace Run as Mayor of Central Falls.
We were honored to have the opportunity to offer the Torch-Bearer Award to Vijali Anctil, who has lived a remarkable life of pioneering peace service to humanity.
Now aged 91, Vijali still leads the Rhode Island Sri Chinmoy Centre, and with her small but whole-heartedly dedicated team of Peace servers, has been the guiding force behind an incredible legacy of Peace Bridges, trees, cities and most importantly a continuing succession of long lasting friendships that we all experienced a taste of today. Thank you Vijali for your great inspiration through all you have done and continue to do!
