Bristol - Oxford

Reported by Devashishu Torpy 83.0 km

In Bristol it was yet another beautiful sunny day. We started the day outside the Council offices where we greeted by the Mayor of Bristol.

The Mayor of Bristol is from Bangladesh and he was delighted to hear that the Peace Run is the initiative of one of his fellow countrymen, Sri Chinmoy. He accepted the scroll from the Lord Mayor of Cardiff and offered us his sincere best wishes for our journey.

Several students were celebrating their graduation and we invited them to hold the torch.

The mayor stood with us by the statue of Raj Ramohan Roy, the great Indian religious, social and educational reformer who passed away in Bristol in 1833. We later visited Raj Ramohan Roy’s mausoleum in the suburbs of Bristol.

On the way out of Bristol we visited Raj Ramohan Roy's resting place.

We visited the town of Bath and the famous Royal Crescent.

Eventually we reached the ancient standing stones in Avebury.

Suswara completes a marathon - 26 miles!

Entering the city of golden spires - Oxford.

And a sumptuous meal laid on for us by Margavati and friends.
