Sacred Heart Catholic Academy welcomed the Peace Run team with a big cheer.

Salil introduced the Peace Run to the school.

The team invited the students to play a country guessing game. This girl found Rhode Island!

The students at Sacred Heart were very good at guessing the countries where our team members came from.

Feeling peace in the heart.

Some students composed beautiful poems about peace and shared them with the Peace Runners...

Students recited their poems at the podium.

Annalisse Ruddy, 8 years old, received the Torch Bearer Award for being a loving, caring, and studious student. She exemplifies peace in everything she does, as she wrote in a poem in her own words titled "Peace".

The Peace Runners presented another Torch Bearer medal to Mrs. Evelyn Ricot. She is a retired banker and grandmother who has been a volunteer in the school for over twenty years, taking part in the grooming and nurturing of little minds.

She is a much loved member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Academy and the Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church Community.

Annalisse led the students to take a lap around the school premises with the peace torch.

Each student held the torch to make their own wish for peace.

The next Peace Run ceremony was at Theresa Paplin School in Queens. This a special education school that serves challenged adolescents and young adults from our local community.

Kovida and Antana are all smiles getting ready for the school ceremony.

We introduced the Peace Run.

Lunthita led the students in a "Feel Peace in the Heart" exercise.

Saranyu hopping like a kangaroo to give a clue for the students to guess her country. Many students excitedly got it right and Salil asked the student to come up to point to Australia on the map.

Another clue for guessing the country that has the highest mountain in the world..Nepal!

Did you guess Hungary..? That's right!!

Ash, a proud holder of the torch, shared his extraordinary poem with the team.

The students got to hold the torch and run a lap around the school yard with the Peace Runners.
