Seonunsa - Yeonggwang

Reported by Hemabha Jang, Urdhacheta Yap 24.0 km

At 4:30am, the boys participated in the morning Buddhist ritual of chanting and prostrating 108 times.

Then it's breakfast time, but Kanyaka was still in dreamland.

It's hiking time.

Wow, how cool is that?

We were rewarded for our hiking spirits with this magnificent view at the top of the mountain.

These forest yogis must be from Bollywood.

Another view from the top.

We had an insightful understanding of many aspects of Buddhist wisdom from the Head nun who invited us to a tea conversation. She enriched us with the concept of ultimate freedom. Freedom from all attachments and ignorance.

In return, we gladly shared with her our Peace Run experiences from around the world.

The Head nun led us into a delightful meditation.

This local farmer wanted to know why were we running.  Once he knew what we we up to, he wanted to be part of the team too.

Let's go!

Kimchi!

Come on, Atul, it's only 49 km to go. Do you really need an umbrella?

We go this way, guys.

At Asan Townhall, we met new friends.

At Gosu Townhall, our hosts gladly took a group picture with us. Fighting!

He even took off his jacket and together with a local farmer ran with us, smiling the whole time.

The farmer gladly gave us his harvest of sweet potatoes, presented to us by the Major.

Happy Atul got what he prayed for, sweet potatoes.

Staff at Daesan Townhall gave us drinks to boost our morale. Let's Go for Peace!

And the journey continues......
