A big thank to our dear friend Stephen Smyth for accommodating some of our mens team and hosting the whole team for a sumptuous breakfast. Stephen is a former recipient of our Torch-Bearer Award and has supported our team whenever we come to Glasgow for many years.

We arrived at our first school, St Annes Primary School, and were delighted to see a quote by Mother Teresa on the door "Peace begins with a smile".

Our local Glasgow Coordinator, Adarsha Kelly, happens to have a wonderful singing voice, which greatly enhanced our presentation!

Time for the teachers to run a lap while we all cheer and appreciate the most significant and challenging role they play in fostering world peace!

We offered the school an artwork by Sri Chinmoy entitled "Peace feeds the children". A special thank you to Deputy Head Marie Hamilton, pictured holding the painting, for organising our visit.

A big thank you to Eilidh Brown for organising our visit and so enthusiastically embracing the message of the Peace Run!

We give the children little cards representing some of the many countries the Peace Run has visited.

On our way to visit the Glasgow City Chambers. The Lord Provost's assistant Anne enthusiastically welcomed us and even ran the torch the last few metres!

We were invited inside the historic and richly decorated City Chambers to have tea and scones with the Lord Provost herself!

The Lord Provost was very happy to show us the 850th Anniversary plate which is sometimes gifted to special guests.

Our next stop was in the Helensburgh Town Square, where we were warmly welcomed by Douglas Philand, Provost of Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute.

Much gratitude to long time local coordinator, Balya Sommerville, who organised our delightful visit to Helensburgh!
Local runner, John Glyn-Hughes, holding the torch and some fruit which we were all generously gifted, along with fresh orange juice, by local fruit and veg shop owner, Toni Taylor- thank you Toni!

A big thank you to Norman McPhee for welcoming us to the Civic Centre with his impressive bag pipe playing.

The talented local musician Robert Ryan performed some Scottish folk songs, including some written or made famous by the great Robbie Burns. Much gratitude, Robert, we really enjoyed your performance!
