A short run took us to the first school of the day.

We have made several visits to St David's RC Primary school with the Peace Run and always receive an enthusiastic welcome.

The teachers joined the children in feeling peace in their hearts.

Mrs Burgess, the headteacher received a Jharna Kala artwork by Sri Chinmoy to display in the school.

Everyone had the chance to make a wish for peace.

Then it was time to run a few laps around the school.

Thank You to everyone at St David's for a great start to our morning.

Our next stop was right next door at Pirniehall Primary School, where a wonderful group of children and teachers met us to hear about the Peace Run.

Our thanks to Lynn Goss and all at Pirniehall for the great welcome!

The children always love to compare which countries they have on the little card we give them.

We made a quick visit to Citadel Books, a bookshop owned by longtime Peace Runners  Janaka and Janani Spence.

It is a treasure trove of books where many of the team could have spent several hours browsing if we'd had the time!

We moved on to the Scottish Parliament where we were met once again by the Presiding Officer Alison Johnstone.

Harita spoke about how we are always filled with hope for humanity when we travel with the Peace Run and see that everywhere we go there are people working for peace in their daily lives.

Alison was proudly wearing her Torch Bearer award which she had received on Sunday.

We are grateful to Alison for taking time from her busy schedule to meet us and for embracing the message of the Peace Run so wholeheartedly.

We also met with Willie Rennie, a Member of the Scottish Parliament. Willie is also a keen runner and longtime supporter of the Peace Run.

Willie spoke about how he felt that we can spread peace through the way we speak and act, as much as through the actions themselves. He said the Peace Run is a reminder to of the softer side of politics which he feels is very important.

Our last school today was Victoria Primary in Newhaven, where a lot of the classes had been doing artwork on the theme of peace, including one class who made an amazing welcome display for the team.

They enjoyed guessing where our team are from. One of the teachers was especially excited to learn we had a runner from her country, Czech Republic!

Finding peace in the heart and then spreading it to those around us.

Two of the children receiving a Jharna Kala painting entitled, "Peace is priceless."

Still feeling peace in the heart while holding the torch.

Many Thanks to Hilary Gorrie who organised our visit today. We were even given some delicious hot flapjacks by some of the pupils, Thank you!

Many hands make light work!

The Scottish leg of the Peace Run concluded with a meeting with Jasmin Paris. Jasmin is a champion mountain and ultra-trail runner with a host of world-class performances in races and personal challenges she has undertaken. Notable amongst these are outright victory in the Classic 268 Mile Spine race and becoming the first female athlete to complete the legendary Barkley Marathon.

She is also a role model for encouraging women's participation in sport and a founder member of the GREEN RUNNERS which seeks to encourage environmental awareness among the running community. In addition to being a qualified Vet, she is a senior lecturer in veterinary studies at Edinburgh University. Her work at the Royal School of Veterinary Studies also involves undertaking critical research into small animal treatments and cures.

We were honoured to be able to present Jasmin with the Torch Bearer Award for the role she plays in inspiring so many people, especially women, to challenge their own personal boundaries.

Jasmin's mother is from the Czech Republic, so she is fluent in Czech and had a chat with our Czech runner, Abhejali.

Jasmin then led a short 6km run around the paths and trails of the Bush Campus.

Our gratitude to Jasmin for joining us on our last meeting of this years Scottish Peace Run. "Individual self-transcendence collectively inspires Humanity at large."- Sri Chinmoy
