Miles, Qld - Dalby, Qld

Reported by Edgars Ancans, Emily Oliver 124.0 km

We started the day early with a visit to Moraby Parkrun in Miles.

The team was warmly welcomed by run director Shirley Makin and many friendly locals.

The ducks are happy because it's been raining, but fortunately the rain stopped just long enough for the Parkrun.

It was a change for the Peace Run team members to run without the torch, as local runners carried it for us!

Our team enjoyed the opportunity to do some faster running in the Parkrun.

After Parkrun, we got back on the road and began our run into Dalby.

The torch had a rain shower all day today and the runners needed their rain jackets.

Rain only got heavier and it became quite funny when cars and road-trains would pass and drench us even further with water from the road!

It's a challenge keeping the torch flame alight in such conditions!

Every day

We met Elaine Fox at Dalby Museum.

She gave each team member a warm hug as she was introduced to them. It was very touching.

After the team sang the Peace Run song and presented the certificate of appreciation, Elaine said: "If people hugged each other more often, there would be no wars in the world".

Runners had a free tour in Dalby museum and couldn't miss the opportunity to ride the tractors.

Woolworths Dalby generously donated a box of fruit. Many thanks!

Country Pathfinder Motor Inn provided beds for some of the team. We're very grateful to sleep warm and dry after a day of being wet!

Thanks also to The Australian Hotel Dalby for accommodation for some more team members. It was much better than sleeping in tents when it's raining outside.
