Sydney

Reported by Edgars Ancans, Gianluca Marangon, Nina Cenková 16.5 km

Early this morning, we met with the children and teachers of the Farmhouse Montessori School in Manly, Sydney. We loved to see their curiosity and independent thinking during our presentation

We also taught the children the actions and words for the World Harmony Run song. It was a good exercise to get us going in the morning

Taking the time to feel peace inside our heart can benefit us in many ways as we set out to engage with our daily activities

Teachers doing a Peace Lap around the children, and setting a good example on how to take the first step towards peace

Everyone took the time to hold the Peace Torch and express their wishes for peace

It gave us a lot of joy

Check which Peace Run card you got. This might be your next Peace Running destination

And now its time to run together for peace! Are you ready?

Yeeess!

Thank you so much Farmhouse Montessori School. We will carry your wishes for peace with us as we make our way to Canberra

The ladies' team visited the Tarent Point Public School

We were welcomed by three kind and reliable school captains — Aryana, Lexie and Yvie — who kindly guided us to the classroom

The students were super engaged and joined in with lots of interest and enthusiasm

They knew what peace means and shared great ideas on how we can all bring peace into our everyday lives

To feel peace is to share peace

Sharing peace form hand to hand

As the kilometres to Sydney were run on the previous day, this meant that the team could enjoy the ferry ride from Manly to Sydney

Arriving at Sydney Town Hall

The Peace Torch visited Sydney Town Hall, where it was warmly welcomed by Yvonne Weldon — an Independent councillor and the first Aboriginal councillor in the City of Sydney’s 180-year history — accompanied by her advisor, Peter Rothwell.

Councillor Weldon's words touched our hearts. She is a true ambassador of peace and a beacon of light for her people. In her own life, she practices the ideal of peace, which she strives to manifest through her work. One of her foremost aspirations is to inspire a better future for the generations to come

Ms. Weldon admired the Jharna Kala artwork we offered. Sri Chinmoy entitled it "Hope"

We would like to convey our deepest gratitude to Councillor Yvonne Weldon for this wonderful meeting today. Your dedicated service to the community sincerely moved us. It is always a joy to reciprocate the ideals of world peace

We also got time for some sightseeing

Thanks to FUJIFILM House of Photography for taking a picture of our team with your Instax cameras

We each got a picture instantly printed and a memory that will last

We visited the iconic Sydney Opera House and had the chance to meet conductor Steve Williams. With a big, warm smile, he happily listened to the Peace Run anthem and, while holding the Peace Torch, shared a few kind words with us about how music, communication, and peace are all deeply connected

The Peace Run continued from Kyeemagh Beach Dog Park, joined by Annabel Hepworth (3100-mile race participant), Clay and Sabina. Starting in the afternoon, we made our way to Cronulla over the final 16.5 km

"Run, run, daily run  On aspiration-road! Your new life will discard Your old life's ignorance-load"
