Cze. 22, 2026 Live from the road

Chehalis, WA - Seattle, WA

Reported by Dhavala Stott 88.0 mi

We spent a peaceful night camping surrounded by the lush green nature of the Pacific Northwest.

Getting in some early morning miles, heading towards Seattle.

Suhashini is always full of energy, even at the end of her run!

Alpacas for Peace!

We met some friendly locals as we were running into Olympia.

Our gratitude to Ravipriya, our co-ordinator for today, who kindly organised a coffee/matcha stop for the team.

Mayor Dontae Payne welcomed us at Olympia City Hall.

Mayor Payne clearly leads his city with oneness, peace and co-operation in his heart and is another shining example of the message of the Peace Run in action. He said holding the Peace Torch is a reminder to live up to our higher angels.

We were also happy to meet some of his lovely staff who took time out to come and offer their wishes for peace.

Mayor Payne hadn't anticipated running with us, but when we invited him to run a few blocks he didn't hesitate and set off at an enthusiastic pace.

A quick glance behind to make sure we are keeping up!

Next time we hope he'll join for a few miles when we come through Olympia!

We were grateful to the Boys and Girls clubs of South Puget Sound for meeting with us on their first day.

Here Pujari is telling the kids that we are all from the same place, Earth, which makes us all brothers and sisters.

The kangaroo hop is always a favourite clue in the country guessing game. Our team comes from 11 different countries so the kids had fun guessing them all.

On arrival in Seattle, some of the team visited the statue of the Peace Run founder Sri Chinmoy, which is in a lovely peaceful setting on Lake Union. The statue invites passersby to hold the Torch and offer a silent prayer for peace, just as we do out on the road.

We enjoyed a very delicious Indian dinner, joined by some new team members and Seattle locals to round off yet another day which filled us with inspiration, hope and joy.
