A beautiful day in the sunshine state. We went to the beach early in the morning to recharge ourselves. If you don't feel peaceful then how are you going to share peace? The ocean was the perfect place to accomplish this, along with happiness and joy.
We were invited to the Masjid Al Hayy Mosque to speak during their service prayers. We were delighted to be part on this wonderful program. Resident scholar, Dr. Syed Shabbir Kirmani gave a very inspiring lecture about peace and hope for humanity. We need peace in order to accomplish oneness in the community.
Santiva Morrison introduced the Peace Run, founded by Sri Chinmoy in 1987 and its message of peace and oneness. Peace begins in the heart of each person and from there it spreads from us to our families, community, city, state, country and to the world at large. Regardless of our skin color, language or religion, we are one world family.
Banshidhar gave a wonderful and inspiring speech about inner peace and shared an exercise in how to feel peace in our hearts.
After watching the Peace Run video, we proceeded to introducing the Torch Bearer Award program, which is a medal offered to individuals in our communities who are truly making a difference with their selfless service. They inspire us and make our communities a better and more peaceful place to live.
The 2 recipients were: On the left, Mansura Manekia (who couldn't attend but her husband was present on her behalf) and Hasnain Fazel who received the award for their exceptional dedication and service to the community at Masjid Al Hayy. Their unwavering commitment to being friendly, compassionate, helpful, selfless and kind has touched countless lives. Through their actions and by leading their team with integrity and care, they offer the spirit of peace and unity with everyone around them.
Our dear friend, Fritz Voltaire, a dedicated leader in our community, offered the TBA to Minaz Manekia, Outreach Director of the Masjid Al Hayy Mosque. "With all her activities, she always goes above and beyond to ensure that every voice is celebrated, uniting individuals of all walks of life. She is passionate about building bridges that empower us to stand together, celebrating our unique backgrounds, cultures and religions, while reinforcing the bonds that hold us as one. It is with great pride to present her with the Torch Bearer Award."

In gratitude for having us on this special day of prayer at the Mosque, we gifted them with a Certificate of Appreciation and a beautiful painting titled 'Peace is Priceless' by Sri Chinmoy, founder of the Peace Run.
