Geumsan - Seonnunsa

Reported by Hemabha Jang, Urdhacheta Yap 57.0 km

Today's weather was great for our continuation of our peace journey.

Getting the right route to take. We had many townhall visits planned for the day.

Ulugbek getting a head-start on the road.

Along the way, we passed by many tranquil landscapes. We enjoyed such moments of peacefulness while running.

Arriving at the townhall of Tein.

We were greeted by their staff members. They were so kind to us, offering water, fruits and even ran with us around the block to show their aspirations for peace.

Arriving at the townhall of Soseong.

We were greeted by the head of the townhall and he gave us the opportunity to introduce ourselves. He held the peace torch and wished us well for our journey.

They also gave us some Korean energy drinks.

Arriving at the townhall of Seongne.

Satyagraha was just doing his runs when he bumped into these soldiers on guard duties. They asked him questions and one of them turned out to be a marathon runner himself.

They were all so enthralled to meet our Romanian runner.

Don't leave home without your.... torch.

The of the townhall of Buan greeted us and was so happy to meet us.

This particular mayor was so thrilled by our endeavour that he couldn't helped but kept smiling and so we invited him to run with the torch too.

The Mayor was so happy to meet us and he took some symbolic steps to show his support. We probably made his day.

This driver saw one of us running and so he had to stop by to say Anyonghaseyo! (Hello! in Korean language)

Arriving at the Seonnunsa temple.

We reached our final destination for the day and were warmly greeted by this head nun from Soenunsan Temple who smilingly brought us around the temple grounds and gave us a tour and explained the history of this ancient temple.

We paid homage to the Buddha by bowing and thanking the Enlightened One for our safe journey.

We were each given a special privilege to hit this giant ancient bell 3 times offer our goodwill to all beings. Please refer to the next picture to understand the significance of this sacred bell.

After a long day of running, Korean style yoga was so refreshing.

We had our first vegetarian temple meal.

We sampled every dish that were available.

In the evening, we had some free time to roam and explore the temple grounds. So beautiful, it felt like paradise.
