Thank you to the Holiday Inn Express for providing complimentary rooms for the team.  Your generosity allows the Peace Runners to continue along their way sharing the message of peace and friendship.

Harita made a new friend in Tom from Boulder who works with Wind Farms.

Then the day begins with rain and running,

Newest teammate Sweta from Nepal calls it the perfect running day!

One women's team finishes their miles and sneaks in a little work over coffee!  In Coffeyville, while waiting for our first meeting of the day.

Coffeyville is the home of the Dalton Defenders Museum.  The museum is filled with history of courage, loss and resilience.

Smokey(Pete) stepped in to describe the rich history of the town and events around the famous Dalton Gang attempted bank robbery.

Also present at the DDM were Commissioner Mike Golden and his wife Jude, Ashley Tatman from the City of Coffeyville and other interested folks.

It was a Peace Run gathering that also felt a bit like a gathering of family.

It was a homecoming for Rupasi whose ancestor is one of the town defenders, George Cubine.

Let the music begin!

In 1892, the Dalton Gang attempted to rob two banks simultaneously.  Their ill fated attempt ended in a historic rally by townspeople who stepped in to defend their town.  In the end, Coffeyville came out victorious, goodness and resilience won the day.

This bank teller has no money for you!

And this 'citizen' is ready to make a withdrawal.

The museum is full of memorabilia of the time and depictions of life in the old midwest.

Thank you to Smokey!  It was excellent to meet you and to learn of Coffeyville's courageous history.

The museum was filled with many small rooms of note, this room housed a collection from industry in and about Coffeyville over the years.

The land in and around Coffeyville was originally part of the Osage Nation and home to Black Dog, the seven foot tall Osage Chief.

This room housed much memorabilia from conflicts abroad and celebrates homecoming of local heroes.

Santiva and two of the defenders.

Site of where the Daltons lay after the famous gun battle that ended their bank robbing careers.

Our next stop of the day is with our old friend and peace loving Boys and Girls Club director Griffin Walker, also known as Griff.  The team was very excited to see him. Because the Peace Run route changed in 2014, we have not seen Griff since then.  It was a very happy reunion.

And the team received such a warm welcome from the kids there at the Boys and Girls Club of Coffeyville.

Griff introduced the Peace Run to the kids

who were ready for us with their own Peace Torches.  Beautifully done.

So many of those present made artwork for peace that will join the 'America, Our Oneness Home' art project.

Learning the World Harmony  Run song with actions

And a moment of silence

Does this look like peace and harmony?  You be the judge!

Ashley from the City of Coffeyville has joined the team! For a short time.

Jesus remembers when the Peace Run came in 2012.

A final thank you from the team to youth of the Coffeyville Boys and Girls Clubs  The team is so happy to see Griffin again.  And a special thank you to Lacey for paving the way.

Griff asked that we create this memory so we can all remember each other next time!

Thank you to all the counselors!
