The Peace Run made a special stop at Kilcummin State School, a small rural school surrounded by bright green wheatfields. There, 30 bright and enthusiastic students welcomed the international team with big smiles and a lot of heart.

The visit began with School Captain Chloe and two other helpful students running in with the Peace Runners, holding the glowing Peace Torch high. Their confident strides set the tone for a day filled with joy and inspiration.

The Peace Runners were treated to a lovely surprise – the students had done some lovely artwork inspired by the Peace Run. They gifted their art to the runners, and we were touched by the creativity and spirit of the Kilcummin kids. We'll take the pictures with us as we journey on around Australia.

The energy kept building as teachers Sarah and Gabby took up the torch and ran a lap with it, cheered on by the students like true heroes! Then came the music! The children learned the World Harmony Run song and soon everyone was singing along and performing the actions like pros. A joyful reminder that peace can be shared through song, dance, and friendship.

Thank you, Kilcummin State School, for your beautiful spirit, your kindness, and your wishes for peace. You’ve left a glowing light in the hearts of all of us who visited.
These two ladies stopped on the highway to cheer us on. We love when we are so enthusiastically supported! Thank you ladies. ;-)
As the Peace Torch travelled down the main street of Clermont we meet Olympia who was thrilled to hear about the Peace Run and spoke of her memories of running with the Olympic Torch in 2000.

Deputy Mayor Jane Pickels of the Isaac Regional Council warmly welcomed the Peace Torch to Clermont.
Cr Pickels spoke proudly of her vibrant community, emphasizing the deep significance of peace—both personally and for the region as a whole.

With a few moments to spare between ceremonies, some of the Peace Run team took the Deputy Mayor's recommendation and visited the Lagoon—an important local site.

This is also the location of the In the Dark walking and running event, which raises awareness for mental health.
During the event, members of the community walk or run continuously from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., showing their solidarity and support for mental health initiatives.

The final school visit of the day was Clermont State School, where students warmly gathered outside to welcome the Peace Run team.
With great enthusiasm, they learned where each team member was from and took a quiet moment to reflect, finding peace within themselves.
They then shared their hopes and dreams for a more peaceful world while holding the Peace Torch.
Always fun to have a foot race with the children. Edgars had his hands full here.
Following the ceremony, the student captains, school council members, and Peace Run team gathered in a serene area of the school grounds where a Peace Tree was planted.
Each participant added a handful of soil around the tree, symbolising their shared commitment to peace.
It was a beautiful and tranquil spot—an ideal place to sit, reflect, and feel the spirit of peace.
The school captains all took a moment to share how they create peace each day.
After our long day running we were so grateful to Clemont Caravan Park who kindly hosted the team for the night.
With the night sky on full display, the Peace Run team seized the opportunity to venture out and capture its breathtaking beauty.
