Sanford, FL

Our ceremony today was at Wicklow Elementary School.

The school welcomed us enthusiastically cheering all the way in. All 600 students lined up outside their classrooms welcoming the runners. Each classroom studied a different country and they were holding their artwork as we passed by. The PE teacher and his running club guided us through the hallways which we are very grateful for since It would be easy to get lost in this school.

We finally made it to the podium where the ceremony took place.

The Choir sang "What a Wonderful World".

Thank you so much for all your hard work. You did such a wonderful job!

Finding Puerto Rico.

Students worked so hard on their artwork.

Our new friends sharing the Peace Torch and making a wish for world harmony.

Immense gratitude to IB Teacher Holly Dumont for inviting us to visit her school for the second time. It was amazing and very inspiring for the participation of their students, allowing them to express their hopes and dreams for a better world.

Patricia Garcia Torres from 5th grade, received the Torch Bearer Award for being friendly to all. She spreads peace through her daily actions and words. She always demonstrates kindness, empathy, and fairness at school. She brings a calming presence and inspires everyone around her.
