A big thank you to the entire Boston Peace Run Team of organizers!

It looks like it’s going to be a busy day with lots of running around and meetings.

The Flying Team - Goga, Tavishi and Violeta....

Anita, with a smile on her face as always.

Sarankhuu shows the teams journey over the past four months.

Town of Cumberland Mayor Jeff Mutter welcomes the team and runs with us.

Longtime Peace Run friend Brian also joined us.

Dee joined the Peace Run team on her bike for many miles. A longtime friend of the Peace Run, Dee joins us whenever the Run passes through Rhode Island.

The World’s First Sri Chinmoy Peace Bridge connects Cumberland and Central Falls. Both communities have been proclaimed Sri Chinmoy Peace Towns and Peace Cities. Many landmarks around the world have been dedicated as Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossoms, reminding people to take a moment to reflect on peace.

Mayor Mutter has joined the team.

Brian joined the team this time for many miles. He has carried the Peace Torch with us is past years, in fact whenever the Peace Run passes through Rhode Island, we can be sure he will be there .

Mayor Mutter passed the Peace Torch to Mayor Maria Rivera of Central Falls. She was waiting for us at the Sri Chinmoy Peace Bridge, named after Peace Run Founder.

Thank you for your recognition and support of the Peace Run.

We had a wonderful time with children and parents at Jenks Park, where they were having an art workshop.

Mayor Donald Grebien warmly welcomed us in front of the Sri Chinmoy Peace Bridge in Pawtucket, a special landmark dedicated to peace and harmony in 1989.

Thank you to Mayor Donald Grebien, for the warm welcome and your words of support for the Peace Run.

Next the team visits the Cape Verdean Museum in Pawtucket, the world’s first museum dedicated to Cape Verdean culture. It preserves and celebrates the heritage, history, and achievements of the Cape Verdean people in Cape Verde, the United States, and around the world.

Two Torch Bearers will be recognized, honoring a selflessness and commitment to bringing Cape Verdean history to life. Executive Director Jose DaMoura has a passion and vision for the museum which resonates with all of us. He advocates for his community at every opportunity and represents the best and brightest of its beautiful and soulful land. Born in Cape Verde and raised in Rhode Island means his life unites the best of both countries in an expression of cultural and historical oneness. He serves Cape Verdean youth and worked with others to create Verdean AfroBeat Radio Program.

We are pleased to present a second Torch Bearer Award to Yvonne Smart, Educator and Curator at the Museum, Her commitment to Cape Verdean culture spans a lifetime. She is dedicated to the Museum, hand in hand with its Founder, Denise Oliveira. Yvonne brings the rich history and exhibits from the museum to the Cape Verdean Independence Day and to local libraries.

The museum serves to educate and offers classes and has visits from school children, international college students, visitors visiting from other countries, as well as visits from heads of state, the President of Cape Verde and the Prime Minister.

The last meeting of the day took place at one of the largest State Houses in the United States - Rhode Island State House.

We were warmly welcomed once again by Rhode Island General Treasurer James Diossa, whose kind words and support are always deeply appreciated.

Community Outreach Coordinator Arelis Pena-Brito kindly met the Peace Runners on behalf of Governor Dan McKee. Thank you Arelis! It is wonderful to see you again.

Thank you for the warmest welcome by the Rhode Island State House representatives- we certainly will be back to this Ocean State!

Mark Gray is pictured presenting, on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor, an Official Recognition from the State of Rhode Island, issued by Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos to the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run on the occasion of the 2026 Peace Run.
