Today celebrates the Annual Cape Verdean Independence Day Festival at India Point Park in Providence, Rhode Island.  50 years of independence!

A beautiful day in celebration of tradition and culture.

Consulate General of Cape Verde Octavio Gomes is happy to hold the Peace Torch and learn about Peace Run.  Thank you for the role you play in Cape Verde's celebration on this day.

This family came to inquire about the Peace Run display.  They were delighted to know that the Peace Run has been to over 150 countries, including to Cabo Verde (also known as Cape Verde).

Maria De Barros, singer and performer at the Independence Day Festival is pleased to learn about Peace Run and share her hopes for peace with us.

The Cape Verdean Heritage Subcommittee organizers and volunteers sponsor the Independence Day Festival, a most celebrated cultural event.
