Special thanks to Arun and Julie Hein for inviting us to stay at their beautiful, though haunted, farm house in Shaftsbury Vermont. The peaceful ground offered us an oasis after a long day of running.
We started our day visitng our dear friend and lifelong supporter of the Peace Run, Akankha. The Peace Run was founded in 1987 and Akankha has been helping us coordinate events in Vermont ever since. Shes a great inspiration to all of us. Gratitude!
Akankha introduced us to 2 of her friends, Faith and Ann. We all enjoyed introducing ourselves and sharing our experiences running in different countries. Special thanks to Faith for offering the team a donation to help with our shopping expenses.
Our next stop was The Teen Center that was hosting a summer camp. After hitting the pavement all morning we were grateful for some shade and smiling faces.
All the kids loved the World Harmony Run songs
Louis was extremely grateful to meet the Peace Run. He had been in the National Guard and said, "Yes, peace starts here in the heart."
At the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington, everyone got involved in the fun actions of the World Harmony Run song.
The kids were keen to find our home countries on the waaaay-oversized map.
Taking their chances to hold the Peace Torch and share their own prayers and wishes for Peace in the world.
Staff running laps with the torch!
We cross into Canada tomorrow with fond memories of the great people of Vermont. Thank you for opening your hearts.
