Today we ran through Kakadu National Park, which is a protected area in the Northern Territory of Australia.

With a long and beautiful journey ahead, the Peace Run team packed up and set out along the Kakadu Highway, heading deep into the breathtaking Kakadu National Park—one of the jewels of Australia's Top End.

It is a World Heritage Site. It is the second largest national park in Australia, after the Munga-Thirri–Simpson Desert National Park.

It is highly ecologically and biologically diverse, hosting a wide range of habitats and flora and fauna.

On the way, we met a dog that seemed lost. When we opened the van doors, the dog jumped in, wagging its tail and greeting the runners. Unfortunately, we cannot accept four-legged runners on the team.
"Why can't I join the team?"

Edgars is one of our full timers; meaning he will run the whole way around the continent! Some days it seems like he could do it himself. :-)

Today was a day of running, and there was a rhythm and quiet joy to every step. Each runner took their turn carrying the Peace Torch through ever-changing and awe-inspiring scenery. As the heat of the day steadily climbed, the team paced themselves, embracing the solitude of the road and the deeper meaning of their journey.

Along the way, passing cars often pulled over—drivers curious about the Peace Run, eager to offer encouragement, and inspired by its message. Many expressed heartfelt support, reflecting on how important peace is in these times and sharing their hopes for a better world.

Before we knew it, we had reached our destination for the day. We found a peaceful spot to pitch our tents, grateful for another day on this ancient and sacred land of Australia, ready to rise again with the sun and continue the journey.

Thank you ever so much Aurora Kakadu Lodge Jabiru for hosting the whole team tonight! What an amazingly pleasant stay.
