今日は朝早くから走り出します。津市の学校で１限目から交流プログラムがあるからです。
We visited Ohmitsu Elementary School first today. We met their 20 5th graders.
今日最初に到着したのは、三重県津市の大三小学校。5年生20人と交流します。
The Japanese are very humble. They bow a lot in such a dignified manner.
小さい子でもきちんとお辞儀する様子を見て、海外ランナーは「日本人は何て謙虚なんだ」と感心します。
The children played a quiz game for us.
生徒さんは、面白いクイズを何問か用意しておいてくれました。練習したばかりとは思えない上手な英語でスラスラと出題してくれました！
Asking us how old the school was? About their school song, what was their school emblem? (a cherry blossom) and what car manufacturers they’d done an excursion to recently? Not Nissan, not Toyota but Honda! Their English was great!
問題は「大三小学校は創立何年でしょう？（72年）」「校章は何を形取っているでしょう？（桜の花）」「最近見学に行った工場は、日産？ トヨタ？ それともホンダ？（ホンダ）」などなど。
In return, we gave them a quiz, too: How many kilometers are we going to run in total from Kyoto to Kamakura? The students line up in front of one of the three answers. The answer is....about 450 km !!
お返しにピースランからもクイズです。「京都から鎌倉までの全走行距離は、約何キロでしょう？」みんな、３択のうち正しいと思う答えの前に並びます。答えは…約450キロ！
Suhasini has a great country guessing perfomance involving a dance, fans and hand movements. She is a hard act to follow.
海外メンバーの一人、スハシニはダイナミックに笑える国当てゲームをしてくれます。実際に扇を使いながら「私の国は伝統的な踊りがたくさんあり…」

The girl second from the right had been to Grahak's hometown of Perth.
右から２番目の女の子は、海外メンバーの一人グラハックの住んでいるオーストラリアのパースに行ったことがあるのだとか！
We then visited Wakaba Nursery. The young children treated our team with a wonderful marching and musical performance. The children have been practicing for many weeks.
次に訪れたのは、松阪市の若葉保育園です。ここではなんと、年長さんの子供さんたちが、マーチングを披露してくれました。ずっと練習を積み上げてきたのだとか。
Playing their own instruments and making some great formations.
こんな小さいのに、担当楽器を一生懸命演奏して、動きもつけて。本当に感心です。
The band leader was great as was the key board player who kept them all in rhythm.
台に乗ったリーダーの女の子、キーボードを演奏していた子、どちらも全体のリズムを整える大切な役目。
This performance was overloaded with cuteness.
あまりの愛らしさ、かわいらしさにチーム一同笑顔が止まりません。
We met Masako, a friend of (Addwitiya) Roberta Flack who helped organize all the ceremonies for today. She also kindly treated the team to a cake and drink at this beautiful lunch place Hanauta.
今日の三重県での交流先とピースランを繋げてくださったのは、藤田雅子さんです。実は雅子さんは、グラミー賞受賞歌手でピースラン提唱者シュリチンモイとも懇意だった(Addwitiya)ロバータ・フラックさんの良き友人。そのご縁で、本当に助けていただき、この日も一日３つの交流先に一緒に来てくださいました。
This flower is called Spider Lilly. Some runners, who were part of the Korean Peace Run, recognized it from their time in Korea.
季節柄、走りながらよく曼珠沙華を見かけます。日本ピースランの直前にあった韓国ピースランでもよく見かけた花だったとか。韓国から連続で参加したメンバーは懐かしがっていました。
Lunch was at a vegan restaurant before making our way to Umemura Kindergarten.
はなうたのビーガンランチは本当に美味でした。雅子さん、ご紹介ありがとうございました！
Kindergartens are a new Peace Run place of attendance for many of us but the children of Japan are more than receptive to the peace message and teach us many things even at this early age.
今日最後の訪問先は、松阪市の梅村幼稚園です。海外のピースランでは、学校がほとんどで、幼稚園・保育園を訪ねることはあまりないそうです。園児さんとの交流が初めてのメンバーも複数。でも、こんなに小さいのに反対にこちらが色々学ばせてもらいました、と言っていました。
The children welcomed us then performed a dance and the runners got to dance along with them. Pushpendra our Indian runner with his Bollywood skills was by far the best. The rest of us mortal runners and dancers just did our best!
まず園児の皆さん全員と一緒に、ホール一杯に広がってちびまる子ちゃんの歌に合わせてダンス！ 見よう見まねでメンバーも挑戦。天真爛漫に楽しむ園児さんたちから、たくさんエネルギーいただきました！
Japan just hosted the world athletic championships and these kids are still in the spirit!
日本では世界陸上が終わったばかりだけど、まだそのエネルギーを感じるような園児さんの走りです！
We spent time with the teachers and children and said goodbye to Masako, running the last miles into to town.
ここで１日お付き合いくださった雅子さんとお別れです。この特別なご縁に感謝して…
