Tongariro Domain - Waipahihi School

Zapsal/a Daniel Rubin 5.0 km

We paid a visit to a statue of a "Dreamer of World-Peace", Sri Chinmoy, after whom the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is named.

Running along the waterfront and sharing the torch with local peace lovers.

Waipahihi School invited us to share the message of the Peace Run. Many of the children remembered our last visit to the school two years ago.

Inquisitive Waipahihi students spontaneously greeted Daniel with questions: what is that you are carrying, and what is the fuel? A: It's a Peace Torch and lamp oil fuels the torch.

Acting out scenarios where the children will say whether it represents peace or not.

We are welcomed to Waipihihi School's very own Peace Tree, which was planted at our last visit.

Mayor David Trewavas has been a good friend of the Peace Run team over the years and welcomes us to his office.

The beautiful Waipihihi Botanical Gardens have tendered a Peace Tree that was planted by the Peace Run team four years ago.
