Today we enter the Nullarbor Plain
The headwind was getting stronger every hour and the run was much more difficult than on other days. It is possible that the wind is weaker in the mornings, so it is precisely the morning hours that will have to be used more for running.
After completing the run, while driving by car towards the Head of Bight Visitor Center, the highway was completely blocked by a long truck.The driver of the truck had tried to turn around in the opposite direction, but got stuck in the sand on the side of the road. Our Peace Run car (Nandi) quickly avoided this traffic incident and set off to look for whales with great hope.
All three teams met at the Head of the Bight Visitor Center, but the whales were a bit of a disappointment for the team, as no whales were seen on the coast today. Maybe this wasn't their workday?

The wind today was a thief, it stole my hat, it stole our flame.
The wind today was a foe. It compelled me to play its forceful game.
The wind today was a friend. In its defeat, it howled, “determination you may claim”.

It was time to head to the Nullarbor Roadhouse, where we were warmly welcomed by the hosts Rowena and her husband. As usual, our Certificate of Appreciation comes with the opportunity to hold the Peace Torch and give the best smile of the day to the Peace Run photographer.
And as a surprise, we met students Max and Inez, who had already met us at their school (Our Lady of Rosary School in Kyneton) three weeks ago. This time we're meeting like old friends!
The sun sets over the Nullarbor, beckoning us to head west ... and so we shall.
