Strasbourg - Saarbücken

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 127.0 km

We started our day at the Council of Europe.

...the first steps of the day...

Deputy Secretary General Mrs. Battini-Dragoni and stuff gave us a warm welcome.

We presented the vision of the Peace Run...

Mrs. Battini-Dragoni received the torch...

...and she spoke kind words. We realised that the goals of the Council of Europe and the Peace Run were the same.

...the staff passed the torch...

A final group picture. Thank you for the heartfelt welcome in our "home", as Mrs. Battini-Dragoni expressed it!

A symbolic Run for Peace!

we went on to the Ecole Michael, a Rudolf Steiner-school in Strasbourg.

The young people awaited us in the meting hall.

Thank you for the welcome!

After enjoying a great run through the Alsace we reached Saverne.

The deputy mayor welcomed our small delegation. Thank you for the meeting!

...along the canals...

Namitabha on his daily run...

Sahatvam joined us as well...

..arriving in Sarreguemines.

The city representatives greeted us at the "Hote de Ville" - the city hall.

Thank you for the welcome!

..the last steps in France...

..and the border! Thank you France for this year's nice Peace Run and for all the hospitality!

We arrived in Germany and continued running along the river Saar. Local runners joined in...

..and we reached the city hall.

Suddenly the sky was blessing us. But this couldn't dampen our spirit! We were ready for Saarbrücken!
