Harvey - Bridgetown

Reported by Grahak Cunningham 23.0 km

Today marked the first day of our Peace Run journey from Harvey toward Manjimup and onward in the direction of Perth.

The day began with a warm welcome from the school community and set a positive, uplifting tone for the journey ahead. Our first school visit was to Harvey Primary School where students and staff gathered for a special ceremony. The torch was held by the acting principal teacher, and the occasion was made even more meaningful by the enthusiastic participation of the children and staff.

We ran 23km from Harvey Primary to St Micheals Brunswick school .

Principal Vanessa Dicker greets us for school visit. The Shire of Harvey visit was a strong and inspiring start to the day, with the message of peace shared through song, speeches, and the symbolic passing of the torch.

The students were attentive and joyful, and the school community created a welcoming atmosphere

After leaving the Harvey area the team continued the first day’s run south through the region,

It was a memorable opening day, combining school visits, community support, and the energy of the runners on the road.

The journey began with sincerity and enthusiasm...

...and the torch continued forward with the goodwill of everyone who took part.
