Sept. 22, 2018 Live from the road

Reported by Harashita Sunaoshi, Homagni Baptista

Today we welcomed 4 new runners to our Peace Run team; Midori and Victor from Tokyo and Yu and Ushra from Kamakura.
The Peace Run had a booth outside the stadium of the Kyoto Sanga Football Club, in Kyoto. Kyoto Sanga plays in the J2 League in Japanese National League.

Japan loves their mascots and so does Kanyaka

After addin the finishing touches to our Peace Run booth, we eagerly awaited the arriving football fans.

We also had fun games for the many children attending. They had a chance to identify Australian animals, learn about Indian culture and also how to identify the States in America.

The organizers of the football game invited us to meet the team mascots and to enter the stadium before the game started.

Harashita spoke briefly about our Peace events before the whole team ran
half a lap of the stadium with the torch.

We would like to thank the Kyoto Sanga Football Club for giving us the opportunity to be a part of their match day activities today.

After a long day at the football stadium, our hungry international team headed over to a great sushi restaurant to experience some local cuisine.
