Worthington MN - Mankato MN

Reported by Tavishi Matthews 100.0 mi

We are extremely grateful to Comfort Suites and Conference Centre in Worthington for really looking after us and giving us wonderful rooms for our overnight stay.

We started our running out of Worthington from 7am.

This is one of the bio energy plants near Windom. They convert millions of bushels of locally harvested corn into fuel-grade enthanol, feed for animals and corn oil.

We were grateful for the police escort into Windom City Hall.

Windom City Mayor, Hillary Mathis, welcomed the team and held the Peace Torch.

We were invited into the Council Chamber to make a presentation.  Salil introduced the Peace Run and the team.  He talked about peace beginning in the heart of each person, and flowing onto everyone around us.  The whole team sang the Peace Run song.

Front row:  Marina Kalinina (Russia),  Atila Tarko (Hungary), Teekhnata Metzler (USA),  Gatisheela Truong (Vietnam), Dhavala Stott (Scotland) and Harita Davies (New Zealand)

The Mayor, Councillors and City Hall representatives talked about the area, their responsibilities, asked questions and offered their support to the Peace Run.

We presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the City.  It was signed by members of the international running team.

A joyful selfie.

The Mayor walked with us out of City Hall and wished us all the best.

Some of us had a few moments to visit the Mayor's beautiful store called 'Enspired', not far from City Hall.  It was filled with great handmade products, including arts, crafts, cosmetics, remedies and inspiring gifts.

Marina met the resident Enspire cat.

Running continued into the afternoon.

Some examples of nature's beauty today....

We were grateful to finally arrive in Mankato.  The cooking team made a delicious dinner for everyone in our trusty RV.
