A big thank you for Holiday Inn Pensacola for providing discounted accommodation for our entire team!
We were really happy to connect with these people from Big Brothers Big Sisters. Their organisation is founded on the belief "that one of the most powerful ways to change the trajectory of a young person’s life is a consistent relationship with a positive, caring adult mentor."
Our first stop of the day was to visit the Montessori School of Pensacola. These kids had super good geography and guessed all our countries no trouble!
We offered our certificate of Appreciation and an artwork by Peace Run founder Sri Chinmoy entitled "Peace feeds the Children".
Copeland Welsh from WEAR news, a local station, came out and filmed us. You can see the story here.
Our second visit of the day was to Azalea City Montessori in Mobile, Alabama, where the kids welcomed us with a super fun banner they made especially!
They even had gatorade ready to give us, and sang "Light a Candle For Peace" to welcome us in to their school.
Skits are always a fun way for all of us to show how we all contribute to how peaceful the world really is.
A big thank you to Angela Fedor and all the teachers and students- we loved spending time with y'all!
Some of us had the chance to visit the beautiful Dauphin Island Beach to cool off after a hot day of running.
We have a special project this year collecting soil from all 50 States. We will plant a Peace Tree in New York at the end of the Peace Run with the soil. This was originally an inspiration of Sri Chinmoy back in 1976 when the Liberty Torch Relay ran through all 50 States in honor of America's bicentenary. Here we are collecting soil from Alabama.
