Women runners enjoyed generous accommodations at the "Palace". Our excellent hosts provided giant sized lunch bags, which lasted more than two days! Yum!
The day begins at the Golden Gate Bridge Visitors Center, a Peace Run Torch Bearer steps forward to be recognized.
The recipient: Norbu Tenzing, son of Tenzing Norgay. Tenzing Norgay was one of a two man team who were the first to summit Mount Everest, together with Sir Edmund Hillary. Norbu also founded the American Himalayan Foundation.
The AHF brings safety, shelter, education, healthcare and opportunity across the Himalayas and have improved countless lives. Peace Runner Sweta Pradhan from Nepal speaks of the appreciation, respect and gratitude the Nepali people have for Norbu and the AHF.
Thank you Norbu for all you do. The world is improved by your selfless, sincere and warm stewardship of peace :)
AHF leads us, off and running into the mist of the unknown, trusting the torch to lead us across the iconic bridge.
The fog is a natural phenomenon resulting from the Golden Gate being the only passage around between warm hills and cool sea.
Our dear friend Kinkani coordinated all the meetings in the San Francisco area and together with Dean more than deserves our Certificate of Appreciation! Thank you both! The team is extremely grateful for your selfless efforts. Until we meet again!
Anne identified a member of the community who stands out as a Torch Bearer. His selfless contributions to improving the lives of others must clearly be recognized: Christian Giacomini.
Christian is a dedicated community leader who supplies everyone with goodwill, cheer and generosity of spirit.
The team was delighted to hook up with Dale, brother of long time Peace Run teammate Nayak Polissar from Seattle.
