Charlottesville - Clarksville

Reported by Devashishu Torpy 59.0 mi

Today we said goodbye to Eva from the Czech Republic and Upasana from New York. Thank you for your inspiring participation!

Our first appointment of the day is at the Montessori School of Charlottesville.

One of the students had prepared for our arrival by creating a beautiful map of the world. She guessed correctly all the countries where the runners are from.

Passing the torch

Between trees.

Natabara heads south.

Running into Farmville, Virginia.

This lovely couple, jumped out of their car to come and hold the torch. Their prayer for Peace was very moving.

We are so happy to meet Sharon Jones on our way into Clarksville. She tells us that she prays every day for World Peace.

Our destination for the day is Clarksville, where our host, Jennifer, invites us for a cool swim in the lake which connects with the Roanoke River.

In the evening we present the team to our hosts and their wonderful friends.

Anna and her mother Jennifer. Jennifer met the Peace Run when it came through Virginia two years ago. This year she very kindly offered to host the team.

Billy Jo is the pioneer and organiser of the Lake Country Road runners, who meet regularly to walk and run together in Clarksville.

Peggy hosted the mens team, and, like Jennifer, provided us with a sumptuous dinner and breakfast.

Coco assists Billy Jo organising and inspiring the Lake Country Road Runners. Today is her birthday and the Peace Run team sang the birthday song for her. Happy Birthday Coco!

Crystal is one of Jennifer's many friendly neighbours. She provided a delicious spaghetti squash dish for the dinner.

Jennifer with her partner, Gene.

Liz and her husband Eddy.

We have received such a warm and generous welcome in Clarksville. Thank you to Jennifer, Peggy and everyone for your extraordinary kindness.
