Day 2 of our Peace Run in Luanda opened with a beautiful surprise! These young children performed with such gusto and innocent joy that filled us with smiles and was truly heartwarming to watch and enjoy.
The song was written and composed at the school in preparation for our visit them today. It was all about love and spreading joy throughout the world.
O segundo dia da nossa Peace Run em Luanda começou com uma bela surpresa! Estas crianças atuaram com tanto empenho e alegria que nos encheram de sorrisos e foi verdadeiramente comovente. A canção foi escrita e composta na escola em preparação para a nossa visita de hoje. Foi sobre o amor e a alegria em todo o mundo.

We then meet with the remaining children of the orphanage in their assembly hall. Their ages ranged from 2 years old to young teenagers.
De seguida, reunimo-nos com as restantes crianças do orfanato no seu salão. As suas idades variam entre os 2 anos de idade e os adolescentes.
It seems universal that young children always seem to innately know where to go first to feel peace - in the heart.
Parece universal o facto de as crianças pequenas saberem sempre, de forma inata, onde ir primeiro para sentir paz - no coração.
We are offered a wonderful singing performance by the Principal and all the children. She later shared with us that often she will arrive early in the morning but never knows where the day goes, often leaving the orphanage after 9pm to address the needs of the children who have all come from very difficult backgrounds. Her tireless love and dedication to the children, was an inspiration to hear about.
A diretora e todas as crianças oferecem-nos um espetáculo de canto maravilhoso. Mais tarde, a diretora partilhou connosco que, muitas vezes, chega de manhã cedo, mas nunca sabe para onde vai o dia, saindo do orfanato depois das 21 horas para atender às necessidades das crianças, todas elas provenientes de meios muito difíceis. O seu amor incansável e a sua dedicação às crianças foram uma inspiração.
Some of the girls shared their aspirations of what they would like to become when they are older. It ranged from becoming a singer to becoming a human rights lawyer protecting the rights of children. We told them never to give up on their noble dreams!
Algumas das raparigas partilharam as suas aspirações sobre o que gostariam de ser quando forem mais velhas. Desde ser cantora a advogada de direitos humanos que protege os direitos das crianças. Dissemos-lhes que nunca desistissem dos seus nobres sonhos!

Homagni has been capturing our visits with the schools on video so it is rare that we can take a photo of him. He is great in engaging with both teachers and children alike, and often being the source of making others smile and laugh.
O Homagni tem captado as nossas visitas às escolas em vídeo, pelo que é raro conseguirmos tirar-lhe uma fotografia. Ele é ótimo a interagir tanto com os professores como com as crianças, sendo muitas vezes a fonte de sorrisos e gargalhadas dos outros.
